Trains In The Night Fingerless Mitts

A train whistles softly in the distance as you’re waiting in traffic. Or standing in line for coffee. Or reading a good book in your favorite armchair.

It’s almost a nightly occurrence for me – I hear it when I’m turning my bed covers down or right when I’m about to fall asleep. It’s soothing. Comforting. It’s the sound of people heading off to their next great adventure. If I could bottle the sound and take it everywhere with me, I would.

Instead, I’ve designed these mitts. The simple cobblestone texture is reminiscent of the ballast bed, and when paired with the track like scales either side, they create the perfect train tracks.

Trains in the Night is my way of carrying the sound with me. I slip these on my hands, and I’m ready for my own great adventure.
